This is a reminder to our TEXAS NCED CERTIFICATE HOLDERS.

Texas Professional Educational Diagnosticians (TPED) has opened a registration window for our Texas NCED Certificate Holders to obtain the Texas Registered Professional Diagnostician Certification (RegPED).  You will not need to take the exam during this short period of time. You will need to pay the exam fee and the first-year membership to TPED. Below are the links to the website to pay $100 exam fee and $50 membership fee.

Debra Hawkins is the contact for this opportunity. Debra will need a copy of your NCED Letter of Good Standing emailed to her along with a completed Initial Application for TPED. This form can be completed on the computer and will be sent to you after she receives your letter of good standing.  When completing the application, please use the name you’d like to have on your certificate. Once Debra receives your fee and completed paperwork, she will email your RPED number to you and order your certificate. The deadline for this opportunity is April 9, 2024.

Please note, one of the requirements for TPED is ten CPE/CEU per year. This is less than the required PD hours needed for NCED so it should not be an issue. If this is a problem, please let Debra know. Your signature on the application certifies that you will have them before May 31, 2025 (when the initial registry period ends). After your first year, TPED picks up monitoring CPE hours and collecting annual dues ($50 for diagnosticians) for their certificate. These hours and your membership with TPED are in no way affiliated with or monitored by NCED.

The Initial Registry form has the TPED mailing address to pay by check. If you’d like to use credit card, you have two options for payment. Automatic renewal or manual renewal, both are available at:
https://regped.com/product/registry-renewal/. $50 fee for TPED
https://regped.com/appexam/  $100 exam fee – drop down menu from App/Exam. Although you will not be taking the exam, the fee is required.
